My most recent experience is in the realm of social media and public relation analysis for a variety of large clients. I have been learning about this through Olson, a well-known advertising agency in the US.
For my daily duties, I spend time on Radian6 and Crimson Hexagon for various clients in search of potential influencers. With that, tickets are sent to the PR team in which they can pair up with said influencer. Another duty on those programs includes keeping an eye out for potential crises that could occur with a client. That is why this is daily and important, so the PR team is aware of any crises as soon as it happens.
A weekly task I complete is data analysis for clients, which is social media based. I export data from Radian6, for example, and analyze samples to see what social conversation is around each week. From there, we can see what commercials are succeeding, what online campaigns are doing well or if there are any consistent complaints around the product or brand.
I also have random projects I get pulled into that involve in-depth research. Most of the time it is competitor research that is presented to to see what other clients are doing in terms of their advertising efforts.
